in 1913 with a t hree-rink green and
41 founding members, the original
site was located along Commercial
Road (Alexander Gardens), due to an
s
expanding membership in the 1920’ a n
additional rink was built.

construct a s even-rink green on a n ew site
which was leased from the shir a nd was

par o f t he recreation reserve.
This is now the present site of the bowling
club in Hazelwood Road, A n ew green
was constructed and funded wholly by
members; this green was officially opened
on New Y e ar’ D ay 1949.
